Botswana National Sports Council, a statutory body established to promote sports in Botswana and participation in sports outside Botswana, invites applications from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Sports Development Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for promoting and enhancing sports development initiatives for Botswana Softball Association (BSA).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Implementation of development plans of Botswana Software Association
• Existence of clear plans for talent scouting and development
• Liaison with schools and institutions on general sports development matters
• Maintenance of database for sports clubs, athletes, sports administrators and sports technicians
• Monitoring and enhancement of performance of softball sporting
• Timely preparation of reports
Education and Experience
• Degree in a sports related field or equivalent
• At least 5 years in a sporting environment
• Advanced coaching training
Skills and Attributes
• Self-driven
• Analytical and Communication
• Creative, proactive and initiative
• Computer literacy
• Ba able to work flexible hours, over weekends and on public holidays
• Relationship management
• Passion for sports
