The Local Enterprising Authority (LEA) is a statutory authority of the Government of Botswana tasked with the promotion of entrepreneurship and the development of the country’s SMME sector. 1. Innovation and Sector Support Director REF: ISS – Director ISS
Main Purpose of the Job 
To initiate, plan, organise and develop policies and strategies to promote technology and innovation within the SMME sector and coordinate the development and delivery of appropriate programmes and services in the area of technology and innovation which will assist SMMEs to use technology and innovation to gain competitive advantage in domestic and export markets and become established as sustainable and flourishing businesses contributing to Botswana achievement of the Vision 2016 goal of becoming a Prosperous, Productive and Innovative Nation.


Position Requirements
A Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Process Design, Innovation Management or a related technological field is required. A combination of relevant experience, academic qualifications and extensive experience in enterprise development may be acceptable in lieu of a Master’s Degree.

Experience
At least 8-10 years experience, including at a professional and managerial level in the development and implementation of technological solutions to operational business problems and the promotion of technology and innovation in product and service development are required. Active experience in the innovation spectrum is essential

2. National Branch Network Director
Main Purpose of the Job 
To initiate, plan, organise and develop policies and strategies for the divisional functions of the business services provided in the branches to enterprises and entrepreneurs within the E-Policy + SME Policy and Niche Policy Strategy. Coordinates the generation of relevant information for the use of further programme design and evaluation that will benefit businesses in the region.

Position Requirements
A Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, Social Sciences or any related fields. A combination of relevant experience, academic qualifications and extensive experience in enterprise development may be acceptable in lieu of a Master’s Degree.

Experience
At least 8-10 years experience in providing operational, business and service assistance to enterprises and entrepreneurs. A strong background in programme development for SMMEs, including development of policies and strategies, to optimise the SMME environment and profitability.

3. Quality Management Representative
Main Purpose of the Job 
Manage and maintain the Organization’s quality assurance program ensuring continuous process improvement and securing quality certifications necessary for the Local Enterprise Authority to compete effectively within the local and global SMME & Enterprise Development arena. Implement, manage and evolve quality assurance measures to achieve the Organization’s quality standards and goals. Report on the extent to which the Organization is complying with the agreed systems, strategies, instruments and processes.

Position Requirements
A Degree in Social Science or Engineering Degree. At least 5-8 years experience working in an auditing environment. Experience in QMS/ISO implementation in a multisite environment is essential. Exposure to SMME Development Environment will be an added advantage.
