ADVERTISEMENT
Ministry
of Transport and Communications exists to develop information communication technologies
and integrated transport services.
Applications
are invited from suitably qualified proactive and result oriented citizens for the
above post in the Ministry of Transport and Communications tenable at Corporate
Services.
MAIN PURPOSE
OF THE POST
To provide
overall coordination of HIV/AIDS (HEALTH & WELLNESS) programs for Ministry of
Transport and Communications
KEY PERFORMANCE
AREAS:
- Develops relevant policy guidelines on HIV/AIDS (Health and Wellness) prevention care and support to guide implementation.
- Provides technical and policy leadership in the implementation of activities on HIV/AIDS (Health & Well ness) within the Ministry and liaise with other stakeholders.
- Initiates, Develops and guides implementation of HIV/AIDS (Health & Wellness) workplace programs.
- Establishes sustainable Information Education and Counselling (IEC) system for the Ministry and conducts educational and health campaigns to increase awareness on HIV and AIDS, wellness, health and safety programmes and where necessary makes referrals for further interventions.
- Consolidates the Ministry's annual plan on HIV/AIDS (Health & Wellness) and ensures that interventions are in line- with the National policy of HIV/AIDS.
- Facilitates the Ministry's planning and budgeting for HIV/AIDS (Health & Wellness) interventions.
- Gives advice and conducts motivational talks to employees for personal development.
- Promotes good nutrition and provides information on diet related illness.
- Disseminates program information including research findings to customers and key stakeholders at national and international level.
- Provides counselling services and where necessary makes referrals for further interventions.
- Promotes and monitors workplace-based interventions for employees on treatment, (Directly Observed Therapy - DOT, First Aid).
- Conducts physical fitness programs and activities
- Promotes voluntary counselling and health screening for diseases.
- Coordinates the process of mainstreaming the intersection of cross cutting issues on health, safety and wellness programs into the Ministry Strategic Plan; (gender, disability, poverty, youth, Most at Risk Populations (MARPs), Environment Impact Assessment (EIA)).
- Develops, reviews Ministry's HIV and AIDS, health, safety and wellness policy guidelines in alignment with relevant legislative framework.
- Prepares both recurrent and development budget estimates for the Health and Wellness programs
- Undertakes any other duties as required by management to meet the exigencies of the service.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's
degree in Social Work, Nursing, Industrial Psychology and related field.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum
of two (2) years relevant professional experience mainly at D3 salary scale in Government,
Private Sector or in a Parastatal.
IDEAL:
Counselling skills will be an added advantage.
REWARDS:
Salary
of D2 (204, 048-225,288) per annum

of serving Public Servants is on Pensionable,Terms and the benefits are as follows:
- Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% and employee pays 5%).
- Optional contributory Medical Aid (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%)
