Divisional Manager (Works)-Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This is a contract position where the incumbent will assist the Director (Works) to discharge the mandate of the PPADB consistent with the Act, Regulations and best practice. More specifically, the Divisional Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, leading and coordinating the day to day activities of the Works Division by advising the Board and its Committees on the adjudication of bids to ensure an efficient, fair, transparent and accountable procurement process that promotes competition and value for money, to review bidding packages, as well as to achieve the Board’s strategic policy and socio-economic objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplines; Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or other Construction related degrees. PLUS a Master’s degree in the same disciplines or other construction related area. A thorough knowledge of the construction industry will be an added advantage.


A minimum of ten (10) years experience, at least five (5) of which would have been at a supervisory/managerial level within a sector responsible for the supervision and management of the procurement process. A detailed appreciation and understanding of procurement principles and best practice, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of both the government and parastatal budgetary processes and capacity of the domestic private sector to meet the procurement needs of Government is essential.

Membership of an appropriate internationally recognised professional institution will be an added advantage.

REMUNERATION
Band 6 (P282, 773 – P325, 252) per annum
