NO: FHS 8/SoAHP 01/2012 SENIOR LECTURER (Programme Coordinator-BPharm)
SCOPE OF
WORK
The
suitable candidate will be responsible for leading the development of Bachelor
of Pharmacy Programme (BPharm) at the University of Botswana. This will entail
development of BPharm curriculum, collaborating with various national
stakeholders and preparing an application for approval of the BPharm programme
by the University of Botswana Council. The incumbent will be responsible for
teaching, research, general administration and daily operation as well as
long-term oversight of planning of the programme. The position reports to the
Head of School of Allied Health Professions.
KEY
COMPETENCIES
- Academic credentials that meet requirements for tenure at University of Botswana.
- Administrative experience or evidence of leadership qualities.
- Good communication skills.
- Substantial experience in teaching and research at university is desirable.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants
should; i) have at least relevant Master's degree in one of the pharmacy
specialties, ii) Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or Equivalent, iii) have at least
6 published publications, 4 of which must be in peer-reviewed journals, iv) be
a lead and or single author in at least 2 journal articles or book chapters, v)
3 years of university teaching experience or equivalent, vi) registrable with
the Botswana Health Professions Council as a pharmacist
