An exciting opportunity exists for someone to head up a finance division, taking responsibility for the group reporting, planning, analysis and managing shared accounting services.
Botswana Insurance Company Limited (BICL), the Insurer of First Choice since 1975, is looking for a self-driven, motivated and talented individual, with a strong drive to succeed, to fill the vacant position of HEAD OF FINANCE in their Gaborone Office. This Executive position, reporting to the Managing Director, needs a strong willed individual with commerce/insurance background and a desire to strategise on profit-generating solutions, viability and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee financial policies and procedures for the accurate and consistent recording and reporting of all financial interests of the company including budgeting, financial reporting, loan analysis, capital expenditure, depreciation management, asset management, project cost accounting, project and operational performance analysis, periodic reports to the Managing Director, the Audit Committee and the Board
• Oversees the investment portfolios and all other financial interest of the Company
• Provide for policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for dealing with financial matters of the company
• Prepare necessary financial information for the purpose of filing taxes
• Preparing for the annual audit and compliance with strict deadlines
• Participate in Strategic Business Planning of the Company
• Provide liaison to the Audit Committee and acts as the Secretary to the Board
• Represent the company in financial matters as required by the Managing Director or the Board
• Oversee the finance operations and reporting of other selected group subsidiaries
• Development of Group shared financial services strategies and synergies
Job Requirements
• A Chartered Accountant with at least eight (8)years well rounded financial experience, five (5) of which should have been post qualification experience at a management level in financial and management accounting and internal control systems
• Insurance experience will be an added advantage
